Being a master procrastinator, I find myself searching the Web pretty frequently. Fashion is a huge passion of mine (passion for fashion!), and I often find nice pictures of new trends or new interesting pieces that I love telling other people about, er, blogging about! I'll also find interesting sites about... anything... haha. Or interesting articles that I think other people would like or benefit from also - and what better way to share them! Which leads me to... frenzies!! While I'm busy purging on purses or having "site"ings, I've managed to lose track of time and it's time to (often frantically) get caught up! I like to think I work best under a tight, quickly-approaching deadline ;)

Post-Frenzy Day :(

Well… hmm… how do I put into words my day after last night?

Well, horrible I think suits it pretty well :( I’ve never gone blind into a test, and I’m NEVER doing it again! I don’t know what I was thinking not studying for this test, but whatever I was thinking was definitely NOT worth feeling list this! Uch, never ever gonna do that again. I remember those days where I didn’t have to study… I miss those days!

And then my entire rest of the day was just totally thrown off and I could not find ANY motivation to be productive… and I hate not being productive because I just feel so useless! But I just loafed around all day, brain totally turned off. And then 10:00 rolls around and I’m super excited to go to my sorority basketball game (spectate, of course!) and I get a phone call from another sorority sister asking me if I’m coming to the library - I TOTALLY forgot that it was Wednesday and I’m supposed to work in the library for Scholarship Committee from 10pm-1am :( So I had to run back to the house and get all my homework and then double back to the library and showed up half an hour late… Boo number two!

So I’m vowing that for the remaining two hours I have to be at the library that I am going to be so productive it will make up for last night and the entire day! Ready, set, go!

Anywho, tomorrow is a new day! The important thing is to learn from your mistakes and not let history repeat itself. Check.

CANNOT WAIT FOR SPRING BREAK!!!
I am sooo excited to go on a cruise with my family! Just the five of us :)
We always have so much fun together and always have the best vacations.
Plus it will be so nice just to relax and clear my mind…

Time Management?

I do understand the vitality of “time management.” I do. But here’s the thing… I would totally manage my time - if I had any to manage!

I’m just going about my day, minding my own business and going to my classes, carrying on as usual. And an unfortunate part of said “usual” is that whenever I’m not busy doing one thing or another… my mind wonders to all of the things I have to get done, and when they need to get done by. Enter: mental checklist.

I wish I could avoid checklists. That way I wouldn’t be so overwhelmed with how long my list is (er, listS are)… but I rely on lists. I honestly need them to function! It’s bad, guys. I make a list for every.thing. Currently I have four running lists: homework, Panhel, SAB, and housework. Shit.

And the worst part is - I feel like I don’t have time to get anything on the list done! (Now, right about now is when you’re probably saying, “Jourdan, if you don’t have time to get all of your stuff done, why are you wasting precious time blogging?” I have a one-word answer for that. Sanity.) But yeah, I feel like I am so busy doing so many other things that I never even get around to my lists! So here’s my plan of action…

I’m going home this weekend - YAAAAY!!! - and I absolutely CANNOT wait! But I’m going to make a chronological-calendar-type-list. I have a few appointments and meetings over the weekend while I’m home, and I also have A LOT of school-extra-curricular-items to get done as well. So what I’m going to do is take a sheet of paper, divide it into three columns (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), and then make 11, one-hour rows for each day (11am-midnight). First I’ll put down all of my appointments and meetings and how long they’ll likely last. Then I’m going to fill in to-do items and allot a certain amount of time for each task. Example:

Friday

Noon Lunch with Samantha

1:30-2:00 Read “Biomedicalization” article for Politics

2:15 Hair appointment with Jeremy

You get the jist… Wish me luck!

What a great turnaround :)

Well, the week did not start out too hot! As a student that takes myself and my grades seriously, I was not acting like it for a good… five days. And on that fifth day, I felt like shit! I was seriously disappointed in myself and it was definitely the kick-in-the-ass I needed to get my shit together… Again…

But whatever! The rest of the week went really well and was stress-free :) Yay! And I’m super excited about some new projects I want to implement in the organizations I’m involved in…

I’ve definitely realized I have a lot on my plate and a lot of plans - but I think the fact that I’m so excited about everything and that I love what I do so much - that motivates me!

How blessed are we the people who get to do what we love everyday? Count them blessings, folks ;)
